West Indian Carnival
The Caribbean American parade marches down Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn – this colorful West Indian Carnival presents steel drum music, with its fantastic costumes and huge feather headdresses, and marching bands. Come join in on one of New York City’s most popular parades that celebrates West Indian history, culture, music and food. This parade attracts more than three million participants. This annual Labor Day Parade will be held on September 5, 2011, starting at 11 a.m.
Eastern Parkway from Utica Avenue, ending at Grand Army Plaza.
