The Christmas Tree has arrived at Rockefeller Plaza

The 74-foot Norway spruce made its way from Mifflinville, Pa, to Manhattan today. The 75-year-old tree weighs 10 tons and it was donated by the Keller family.  The holiday season in NYC is a magical time and the Rockefeller Christmas tree is at the heart of it all.  The tree will be lit on Wednesday November 30th.  There will be approximately 30,000 lights on the tree. Tony Bennet and Justin Bieber will be performing for NBC’s annual live Christmas tree lighting ceremony on that night.  Since the opening of Rockefeller Center in 1933, The Christmas Tree has been a staple to NYC and since 1951 has been a Holiday Emblem televised for all others to see.  The visual of the tree towering over the Ice skating rink is breathe taking and one of the most trafficked spots for sightseers in all of NYC.

Rockefeller Center is located between 48th & 51st Streets and 5th and 6th Avenues, Manhattan.
