Citi Pond at Bryant Park Tree Lighting Ceremony
Bryant Park is located between 40th and 42nd St and from 5th to 6th Avenue. Citi Pond at Bryant Park is open from October 27, 2011 – February 26, 2012.
During the holidays the park delivers a breath-taking experience or just visual beauty for pedestrians passing by. The shops are very charming and offer that small town feel right in the middle of the most exciting city in the world. The most spectacular thing during holiday season is the Bryant Park Tree Lighting Ceremony. New York City is known for the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree but moving up the ranks is for sure the Tree lighting ceremony at Bryant Park. Additionally, you can go ice skating on City Pond for free, as long as you bring your own Ice Skates. Hearing the blades glide across the ice with that fresh Christmas smell in the air can really give you the feeling of the holidays all around you. On November 29th from 7pm to 8:30pm, join the Bryant Park Tree Lighting Ceremony. During the Event, Bryant Park will feature music, celebrity guests, and Ice Skaters will even put on a show. This is a highly recommended event for New Yorkers and Visitors. All year round there are events and things to do here, shopping, dining and many different kinds of entertainment. The Park is surrounded by many commercial buildings and people use the park to have lunch and relax. It’s a park right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle that allows people some recreation and leisure. One of the most famous annual events is the HBO summer festival that features films every Monday night. There are many other shows and performances that take place through out the year on the Lawn at Bryant Park.
Bryant Park during the holidays raises the bar of what this park represents to New York City. Tonight, Citi Pond at Bryant Park Tree Lighting Ceremony includes free performances by Sarah McLachlan, the casts of Million Dollar Quartet and Mamma Mia, British figure skater Steven Cousins, synchronized skating team The Haydenettes, and The Brooklyn Youth Chorus.
