Radio City Christmas Spectacular
The 2011 Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes is going on now through January 2nd, 2012, if you are in NYC during these weeks it is highly recommended that you go see this show. This is the show’s 79th year where they will set the bar for the holidays. Everybody knows nobody does Christmas like New York City; Radio City Music Hall is one of the holiday staples in this town, not to mention it’s a half a block from the most famous Christmas tree in the world at Rockefeller Center. The Christmas Spectacular is taking it up a notch this year with State of the art technology including 3D live Video game adventure and digital projections taking the scenery way beyond the stage. The show kicks off with the Radio City Orchestra playing the overture. Right after that you have the Rockettes acting as Santa’s Reindeer taking him from the North Pole all the way to Manhattan. With the world’s largest LED screen and the 3-D visual effects it is hard not to be taken aback. The Spectacular shows Times Square from a breathtaking perspective with all the pure white snow, it’s magical. With all this amazing technology, The Christmas Spectacular has not lost its authenticity and has managed to keep its charm dated all the way back to 1933. Fan Favorites will continue to dazzle audiences with the “New York Christmas “where The Rockettes will board an actual Double Decker Gray Line bus to take them on a tour to see the City landmarks with show stopping choreography and firework displays in Times Square. Traditional numbers like “The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers “ featuring all 36 Rockettes will continue to be a signature performance of precision. No matter who you are or where you are from, The Spectacular has something for everyone. Suffice it to say, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular has set the bar for what the holidays mean once again. Bravo.
