Times Square will be getting a new redesign by 2014. The Times Square Alliance says it will “simplify and de-clutter” and create a unified identity for the heart of Times Square. The $27 million plan transforms the plazas into “sleek silver-gray spaces populated by slablike benches and metallic tiles”.
