Strawberry Fields

The memorial to John Lennon is in Strawberry Fields, a black-and white mosaic called “Imagine”. ¬†Strawberry Fields and the memorial was created in 1981 with funds provided by Yoko Ono, the widow of John Lennon. Fans stop and leave flowers or candles all year round, but on October 9th, on John Lennon’s Birthday a huge crowd gathers every year to sing, pray and celebrate his life and work.

Located: Entrance is located on Central Park West and 72nd Street – walk east towards Central Park.
