Park Avenue Tree Lighting

The Park Avenue Tree Lighting held their 66th Annual lighting on Sunday December 4th.  This tradition started way back to 1945 in honoring men and women who lost their lives in World War ll.  Now it it’s a symbol for all who have died defending our country as well as the holiday season.  The lighting will take place at 6:30 PM and will be followed by a ceremony outside the Brick Presbyterian Church at 91st Street and Park Avenue.  The lights will remain lit until mid January 2012.  The event is funded strictly by the community itself, it used to rely on just a few families, now many families participate in the funding.  Park Avenue is one of NYC’s finest Avenues as it is, all the lights just takes up a notch even more.
